Why move the company to Florida?

Cold, windy, freezing, blizzard, snow, white out……. All phrases and words I have deleted from my vocabulary since moving here. Right now, all of the people reading this from up north in my old hometown of Indiana Pa. who asked “Mike, why uproot and move to Florida?” just now understand my reasons for moving my family to Florida.

You know what I did with my kids this past weekend when all my friends up north were shoveling snow? I went to Downtown Disney with my wonderful family… and it was chilly (notice I did not say cold)… 70 degrees and a bit windy! So right now – while the North East is bracing for another winter storm of record proportions I am wondering if it will be warm enough this weekend to go boating.

Enough of how awesome Florida is – you want to hear something more awesome? We are hiring more people because our motor board is FULL… I mean FULL… we have twelve block and head builds going on right this second, so while your order may get to you a little “slower” than normal, know that I have been interviewing people and we have found the perfect fit to compliment Tim in the machine shop, more details coming soon.

January was the first month in over a year that we hit our target sales goals, how awesome is that? Is it a sign of our economy turning around? Or is it a sign that the “car guys” are just tired of their projects sitting around in the garage? I don’t think the economy is turning around any time soon, so it must be the bug we get to go racing (which I have really badly now by the way). So go out in the garage (no need for a shovel if you live in Florida by the way) and start turning some wrenches again!

We are also looking for one or two really good, talented sales and customer service reps to round off our staff as well – so if you are looking for a change, or just want to try something different – send me your resume.

So there you have it – January was awesome – and if you don’t like the cold, move to Florida.
